Israel has seized four million dunums of West Bank land since 1967 under various pretexts, revealed a statement issued on Wednesday by the International Relations Department at the Palestinian Liberation Organisation (PLO).
The statement, issued to mark the 35th anniversary of Land Day, also said a total of 517,000 Israeli colonists currently live on Palestinian soil.
The PLO said a total of 86 per cent of Jerusalem land had been seized for Israel's colony-building activities, preventing the Palestinians from their basic rights in the holy city.
Dr. Salam Fayyad, the Palestinian Prime Minister, said the bottom line in the Israeli-Palestinian struggle was land.
"The will of the Palestinian people has not, and will not, weaken when confronting the Israeli bulldozers and the terrorism of the Israeli colonists," he said. "Land is at the core of the Palestinians' existence. We have been here and will remain here till the end.

"Our right to defend our land is a sacred duty, in which the official role of the PA is to provide all possible support to increase the steadfastness of the Palestinian people.
"Our non-violent public resistance is a central episode in the history of the Palestinian national struggle."
